Healthy Christmas Treats

The holidays are right around the corner and I have been feverishly making my healthy Christmas treats to give to friends and family.  These little jars of love are great for gifts!  I started with a coconut protein ball recipe:

1 cup unsweetened coconut

Jars

1/4 cup dark chocolate chips

1/8 cup sunflower seeds

1/8 cup chopped walnuts

1/8 cup chopped pecans

1/4 cup organic raisins

1/4 cup homestyle oats

1/4 cup honey1 cup peanut butter

 

Okay!  Now all you have to do is layer the ingredients into a cute mason jar (excluding the peanut butter and honey).  I added a little holiday cheer with some mistletoe fabric and red ribbon.  Then I put a little note with the instructions on each jar.

My husband loves these!  I love that they are delicious, but even more importantly, I love that they are healthy, natural, and good for your body.  Go ahead and give the recipe a try or whip up some yummy Christmas treats!

CrossFit

Today my sister-in-law and I went to our very first CrossFit class!  If you don’t know what CrossFit is here’s a video that pretty much sums it up…

We went to the beginners’ class because it is required that you learn proper form and technique before you attend any of the conditioning classes (thank goodness!!!).  Practicing all the moves with the instructor definitely gave us confidence.  We had a fun first day, though I do wish the energy would have been a little higher (note to self when training future clients: always be pumped, excited,  and encouraging).

I LOVE trying new things!  It’s always good to get out there and experience life!  It helps to bring a friend along if your a little timid….Kami (my sister-in-law) is always a hoot to be around and I was very thankful that she came with me!  So get out there, don’t be shy now!  When was the last time you tried something for the first time?
